Co—Re is a transnational collective composed of artists, curators and cultural practitioners who investigate specific contexts. Co—Re runs an art space at Haus der Statistik in Berlin where exhibitions, discussions and hybrid events take place. The collective emerged from the Master’s Programme Art in Context at UdK and has organized collaborative learning formats to strengthen student communities beyond the academic field. The members’ backgrounds range from fine arts to education, architecture, design, audiovisual arts, performing arts and curatorship.

Although very diverse, our disciplines have as a common ground an approach to art practices from research and context specific positions applying methods of artistic research. Our team runs and collaborates on different projects. In Berlin, many group members coordinated Octagon project space, a renovated cable car cabin on the garden of UdK Campus at Einsteinufer, where over ten performative events took place during the 2019 summer. Octagon served as a gathering spot for the student community and presented a series of artistic proposals related to the public space of the cabin.

In 2020, some members coordinated the community based project Humboldthuaca, a series of workshops and gatherings thematizing restitution and colonial reparations within latin-american indigenous supporters based in Berlin.

Precisely in Sao Paulo, Brazil, one of us runs the art space project Casa Aberta. The space fosters experimental projects especially in the field of music, fine arts and dance. The project is open to practices that are not suitable for large institutions and are not promoted by the market.
